About the Chef

Joan Arias is the owner of The Dinner Table.
As a young adult she started cooking and always loved preparing meals for family and friends. She never thought of cooking as a chore and feels fortunate to have been able to turn a passion into a career.
In the early 1990’s she completed the Culinary Arts Programme at George Brown College and has taken numerous cooking classes over the years. She continues to do so. In 2005 she decided to leave office work, her career for most of her life, and follow her passion.
Joan is a member of the Canadian Personal Chef Association and the United States Personal Chef Association. She also holds a Food Handler Certificate issued by the Region of Peel.
